Course Overview

This course is for people who want to develop the skills and tools to use in libraries and work as a library assistant.

This course is for people who want to develop the skills and tools to use in libraries and work as a library assistant.

You will gain an in-depth knowledge of library systems and processes, including how to organise and maintain library collections, how to search library databases, use more advanced cataloguing tools, use and support multi-media equipment. Face-to-face customer service skills will be developed as well as a chance to use social media skills to communicate with customers and colleagues.

After studying at this level you may provide leadership and guidance to others with some limited responsibility for their output.
