Course Overview

This qualification is for people who work in a range of education settings including public and independent schools and community education settings.

You will learn the skills required to provide assistance and support to teachers to facilitate students' learning under broad based supervision. You will learn how to perform with a moderate level of autonomy, and could provide supervision/leadership to other staff/volunteers.

For students seeking to complete a First Aid unit of competency as part of their program, you must be able to perform basic life support skills, for example control bleeding and perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). If you have a disability that would prevent you from performing required basic life support skills you are advised that you will not be able to achieve the unit of competency.
