Course Content

To obtain a Certificate IV in Alcohol and Other Drugs with North Coast Tafe NSW, you’ll need to complete some or all of the following units of study successfully. Units may vary or change so check with the provider before enrolling.

A total of 17 Study Units must be completed to attain this qualification.

Core Units

12 Core Units must be completed to attain this qualification.

  • Work in an alcohol and other drugs context

  • Assess needs of clients with alcohol and other drugs issues

  • Provide interventions for people with alcohol and other drugs issues

  • Develop and review individual alcohol and other drugs treatment plans

  • Assess co-existing needs

  • Provide brief interventions

  • Use communication to build relationships

  • Work with diverse people

  • Work legally and ethically

  • Work with people with mental health issues

  • Develop and maintain networks and collaborative partnerships

  • Provide first aid
