Course Overview

This course is for people wanting to build on their existing skills in the care of a variety of animals in a companion animal facility.

It is also suitable for those already employed in small companion animal businesses. Job roles generally involve supervisory responsibility and include pet shop manager, companion animal behaviourist, animal groomer, kennel or cattery manager, animal shelter supervisor, mobile hydro-bath operator.

This course enables you to build on your skills and knowledge for the care of companion animals and the operations of a companion animal facility. It is essential that whilst undertaking this course you have access to a companion animal workplace through either paid employment or significant periods of work placement or work experience. This will allow you to practise what you have learnt and increase your experience working with others in an animal care facility.
